Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how CataFit ("CataFit", "we", "us") collects, uses, and protects your information when you use the CataFit mobile app and related services (the "Service"). By using CataFit, you agree to this policy.
1. Information we collect
- Account information: your name and email address. If you sign in with Apple or Google, we receive your email and name from them (Apple may provide a private relay email if you choose to hide yours).
- Health & fitness information you provide: height, weight, body-fat percentage, target weight and body fat, activity level, the foods you log (including calories and macros), your workouts, and weight entries over time.
- Meal photos: if you use AI photo logging, the photo is sent to our AI provider to estimate the foods and nutrition. We use it only to generate that estimate and do not permanently store the image on our servers.
- Coach conversations: messages you send to the AI coach and its replies, so we can show your history and provide context-aware answers.
- Subscription & referral data: your subscription status, plan, trial dates, referral code, and referrals.
- Basic technical data: information needed to operate the app, such as your authentication token and app/device type.
2. How we use your information
- To calculate your calorie and macro targets and track your progress.
- To provide the AI coach, AI photo logging, and workout suggestions.
- To manage your account, subscription, trial, and referral rewards.
- To secure the Service and prevent abuse.
- To send you account-related emails, such as password-reset codes.
3. AI processing
To power the coach, photo analysis, workout generation, and daily briefings, relevant information (such as your goals, daily totals, meal photos, and messages) is sent to our AI provider, OpenAI, which processes it to generate a response. We share only what is needed for the feature you are using.
4. Service providers we use
We share limited information with providers who help us run CataFit:
- OpenAI — AI coaching, photo nutrition estimates, and workout generation.
- Apple & Google — sign-in and in-app subscription payments.
- RevenueCat — managing subscriptions and receipts.
- Railway — hosting our backend and database.
- Resend — sending account emails (e.g. password resets).
These providers process data on our behalf and are not permitted to use it for their own purposes except as needed to provide their service.
5. What we do not do
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not show third-party ads in CataFit.
6. Data retention & deletion
We keep your information while your account is active. You can permanently delete your account and all associated data at any time from the app (You tab → Delete account). Once deleted, your data cannot be recovered.
7. Security
Passwords are stored only as salted hashes, connections are encrypted in transit, and access to your data requires your authenticated session. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information.
8. Children
CataFit is not intended for children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country). We do not knowingly collect information from children.
9. Health disclaimer
CataFit provides fitness and nutrition information and estimates for general informational purposes only. It is not medical advice and is not a substitute for consultation with a qualified healthcare professional. AI estimates (including calorie and portion estimates from photos) may be inaccurate.
10. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data. You can exercise most of these directly in the app, or by contacting us at the email below.
11. International transfers
Your information may be processed in countries other than your own, including where our service providers operate. We rely on appropriate safeguards where required.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the date at the top of this page.
